Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Isabel Rodrigo, born on 20 February 2003 is an American actor and singer-songwriter. In the latter half of 2010 she became famous for her role as the lead actress on Disney's television programs Bizaardvark (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series). Rodrigo's first single, "Drivers License", was released by Interscope Records and Geffen in 2020. It broke many records and became one the top 2021 songs that were sold. This propelled her into mainstream fame. Following it, she released singles "Deja Vu,"" and "Good 4 U" and her debut solo album Sour (2021), which was praised with numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards. In 2022, a Disney+ documentary called Olivia Rodrigo: Drive Home 2 U was released which chronicles her process of creating in the making of Sour. Rodrigo has achieved two Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles, one Billboard 200 number-one album, and five multi-Platinum certifications by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In addition to other recognitions, she has been awarded an American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards. Time declared her 2021 Entertainers' of the Year. Billboard named it Woman of The Year in 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo is the daughter of Jennifer Rodrigo (school teacher) and Chris Rodrigo (family therapist). She was born at Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta on February 20, 2003. Her birthplace was Temecula in California. [7] Rodrigo is Filipino American. Her father is Filipino while her mother has German and Irish roots. [6][9][10] She has stated that her great-grandfather's paternal grandfather left the Philippines to the United States as a teenager and her family adheres to Filipino traditions and cuisine. Rodrigo began singing lessons in the kindergarten years. He also learned piano quickly. She began singing classes and acting when she was six years old. In elementary school, she began acting in productions. Rodrigo started playing the guitar when she was 12. 12] She began to appreciate alternative rock bands such as Pearl Jam, No Doubt and Green Day. Rodrigo discovered the art of songwriting through the country genre and Taylor Swift. 14 years after she received her Bizaardvark part, Rodrigo relocated to Los Angeles.
